The I.T. recruitment environment has changed substantially over the last few years. The advertising medium is now predominantly internet based, and search and selection computer systems have become increasingly more sophisticated. Also, skill sets required by clients are becoming even more diverse.

When LatCom was launched in 1995, we knew we had an opportunity to start with a clean sheet. We realised the changes that were starting to happen in the market place and we built the company with this in mind.

Automation

From the start, all our systems were automated. Our overhead in administration is therefore much less than a conventional agency would require, and the savings made can be passed on to our clients.

Search and Selection

We put great efforts into ensuring we had the best search and selection database available. Voyager was chosen for its flexibility, its robustness and its ability to automatically cross reference between clients and new CVs.

Communication

Communication also became a key word for us. From the start we wanted to ensure that if a client or a candidate wants to contact us, then it should be very easy for them to do so. We don;t have voice mail - we believe you should be able to get hold of someone who can help you immediately - our phones are answered within three rings. Everyone in our offices naturally has email and full internet capability.

Partnership

Our sales staff are taught from the start to look at long term client development not short term gain. We stringently believe in the partnership approach with our clients - we want you to feel comfortable in calling us for any reason - for information about the availability of specific skills in the market place, for our opinions on rates, or to talk about a tentative requirement.

Areas

LatCom covers predominantly the banking sector, but we have now branched out to cover many other areas including insurance, manufacturing, distribution and defence.

Disciplines

All I.T. areas are covered by LatCom, from operations, support and maintenance through to development - including all environments; mainframe, midrange, PC and Unix.

Geographical

Most of LatCom's clients are in the UK, but we have a strong presence in Ireland, Germany, Portugal and Holland.

International Partnerships

Over the years LatCom has established strong partnerships with other agencies and software houses in Europe, the USA, and Australia/New Zealand. If you are looking for a rare skill, we often find it is easier to locate them through these contacts.

Rates

Our Percentage Margin is extremely competitive. Our administration and management overhead is kept to a minimum, and it is important to us that both our clients and - in a contract situation - candidates, see that we charge a fair price. As mentioned before, we are more interested in long term partnerships then short term gain.
